Coverage of 3D Touch in “iOS 9 Without the Eye”
If you’ve ordered “iOS 9 Without the Eye”, thank you so much. This series of titles is by far our most popular, and I’m looking forward to sharing a book whose creation has been a big part of my life these last three months.
The book covers some features exclusive to the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPad Pro, based on material Apple has already released.
3D Touch is, for many people, one of the most exciting changes Apple is making to iOS on the new iPhones. It promises to introduce one of the most radical user interface overhauls since iOS was created.
Understandably, I’ve received dozens of inquiries about whether “iOS 9 Without the Eye” will be covering 3D Touch.
The answer is yes, in a free update to the book for all who’ve purchased it. Apple has yet to describe how 3D Touch works with VoiceOver. Even with such a description, it may not be as detailed as I would like for the book. I am looking forward to receiving my iPhone 6s Plus on the 25th. Thankfully, New Zealand is one of the first countries in the world to be getting the new iPhones, and the 25th comes to New Zealand before it comes to most places. So I’ll be hard at work updating the book to accommodate 3D touch gestures as soon as possible.
If you have already purchased because you want this comprehensive guide to iOS 9 on the day iOS 9 is released, you’ll still have it on the day to help you get familiar with what’s new. But you’ll also get a second edition of the book at no charge as soon as it’s complete.
Thank you again for your support of the “iOS Without the Eye” series, and of Mosen Consulting eBooks and audiobooks.
