Coming up this week on Mosen At Large, Windows XP turns 20, iOS makes it to 15.1, JAWS is at 2022 and our Chromebook series begins

Kia ora Mosen At Largers.

I’m looking forward to our weekly get together. Here are just a few of the things we’re talking about on this week’s show.

Apple has released iOS 15.1. As I have mentioned, I find the new focus feature in iOS 15 a useful productivity enhancer. The other feature I enjoy very much about this year’s release was pulled from the final release of iOS 15, polished and perfected, and now released in 15.1. It’s called SharePlay, and it allows you to listen to music, watch videos and even play music together with your friends. I’ll give the highly popular Heidi Taylor a call on FaceTime so we can do a SharePlay demo.

Vispero has released JAWS 2022. It’s been a wee while since I talked about new features in JAWS, but I reckon enough time has elapsed for me to take an independent look at what’s in this latest release.

It’s hard to believe, but it was 20 years ago this week that Windows XP was released. Did you know that there is still one country in the world where most computers are still running Windows XP? Dude! Do you have any particular memories of Windows XP?

We’ll have more thoughts on games that blind parents can play with their sighted kids and I would love to hear your ideas.

And this time I really do hope to start my series on Chromebooks. They are a more powerful accessibility tool than many people realise.

As usual, there’s a wide array of blindness and technology topics from listeners on which you may like to comment once you hear them.

If you want to raise something new, you’re very welcome. Please don’t be shy, I’d love to hear from you. What makes Mosen At Large special is the global community we’ve built and all the perspectives we share with each other.
