Coming up on Mosen at Large 185, RNZ told to lift its disability game, what do NFB and ACB’s convention COVID policies say about their differences, and part 2 of the BlindShell 2 review
Kia ora Mosen at Largers. Our amazing community has put together another informative, thought-provoking listen for you, and it’ll be in your podcast app this weekend. Here’s a sneak peak of what you can expect.
You may remember that last year, I submitted to a Parliamentary committee here in New Zealand which was reviewing the Charter of our public broadcaster, Radio New Zealand. My submission included thoughts on their programming being riddled with ableist language, the lack of involvement of disabled people in the organisation, and inaccessible use of social media. The Committee published its Report this week. It’s wonderful to have a victory, and I’ll give you all the details.
We’ve been talking in recent weeks about whether NFB and ACB could merge. Some people have said that there are still some significant differences between the two organisations. With convention time approaching for both organisations, what do the different approaches taken to COVID19 at the conventions say about each of them?
Chris Gray is here with part 2 of the BlindShell 2 review, taking a deep dive in to the applications the device offer.
And what do you do when you want to buy something, but the manufacturer won’t sell it to you because they’re convinced a blind person can’t use it?
There’s plenty more on the show as well. If you want to raise something new, you’re very welcome. Please don’t be shy, I’d love to hear from you. What makes Mosen At Large special is the global community we’ve built and all the perspectives we share with each other.
