Coming up on Mosen at Large 189, Vocaster Two from Focusrite is an accessible, intuitive audio interface for podcasting and voice work

Kia ora Mosen at Largers. Our amazing community has put together another informative, thought-provoking listen for you, and it’ll be in your podcast app this weekend. Here’s a sneak peak of what you can expect.

This week, in one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done, I gave public evidence on the abuse I suffered as a child at the school for the blind in New Zealand. I’ll talk a little about that experience and its aftermath.

The majority of the podcast is taken up with a thorough explanation, demonstration and review of a very exciting new gadget. Podcasting has exploded in popularity. But there are some who have super podcast ideas who, be they blind or sighted, find the technical aspects of producing a podcast so daunting that they don’t give it a try. Blindness, of course, adds accessibility considerations to the complexity. There are now many devices out there that try to help with this problem, simplifying the production process. The only trouble is, most of them are either completely inaccessible or require references to a cheat sheet of instructions. That’s why I think the device I’m going to show you this week is going to make a huge splash in our community.

Focusrite is a popular manufacturer of quality audio interfaces. Now, they’ve developed a new brand called Vocaster, designed for those who want to record podcast, do online streaming, or any other voice related work. And you can use every feature fully and accessibly as a blind person. If you’ve wanted to start a podcast but have been daunted by the combination of too much complexity and too little accessibility, you won’t want to miss this week’s episode because you’re in for a treat.

There’s plenty more on the show as well. If you want to raise something new, you’re very welcome. Please don’t be shy, I’d love to hear from you. What makes Mosen At Large special is the global community we’ve built and all the perspectives we share with each other.
